That may sound simple, but the fact remains that one medium may be better than another for a particular audience or specific information. To help, here’s a look at some of the most popular social media sites and what kind of messaging works best on them.

Before you do anything else, make sure your business profile is current. According to Ipsos Research, an up-to-date Google Business Profile is 70% more likely to result in a visit to a physical location, is considered 2.7 times more reputable than other similar businesses, and 50% more likely to result in a purchase.

FACEBOOK

It has multiple paths you can take, including releasing live videos, joining or creating groups, and posting “stories.” Take advantage of the groups and building connections.

Don’t even think about going “salesy.”

YOUTUBE

A great platform for marketing, especially through info-tainment, it is the top spot to communicate via video and, in terms of applications, is the best for training, product, and longer videos.

INSTAGRAM

An image-based platform, tell your story mostly with images here. It’s also a terrific way to draw in young adults because 75% of 18-to-24-year-olds use IG. Videos garner greater engagement than other types of content posted to Instagram.

TWITTER

Keep it short, post news, and ask questions. Tweets with video see 10 times more engagement.

TIKTOK

One of the fastest-growing social networks ever, it’s tops for short video. It is definitely the best way to target the youth market as 25% of users are in their teens or younger.
