Growth
As reported by Leverage Marketing, influencer marketing is today’s fastest growing customer acquisition strategy. One reason? According to Convince & Convert, “Businesses are making a strong return from influencer marketing, generating $6.50 in revenue for each $1 spent.” Talk about a winning strategy!
Who
While you may think of celebrities as influencers, small businesses are increasingly tapping local influential folks. That can include key customers or other local business owners…in fact, anyone who’s seen as a fashion-forward individual in the community.
Businesses earn $6.50 for every $1 spent on influencer marketing.
One option? See if a couple of your most fashion-forward clients would be willing to be featured in eyewear on your Facebook page or even on a Wall of Fame featuring photos of them wearing their favorite frames purchased from you. Even better, check with local affinity organizations—like moms’ groups, for example—to get them involved with and supporting your business. That support can be in exchange for a contribution, providing eyewear makeovers, offering special pricing on something, or just promoting their group.
If you do use photos of customers or influencers, be sure to request permission to reuse any photos as they are a great addition to emails or to post on your own website.
Where
According to Sprout Social research, “89% of marketers [surveyed] agreed that Instagram was the number one influencer marketing platform. YouTube came in second at 70% and Facebook in third at 45%.”
Why
One reason influencer marketing is successful with consumers is that people love stories. According to Psychology Today magazine, “We retain 70% of information through stories, but only 10% from data and statistics.” Why? Because consumers “use feeling rather than facts to evaluate a brand, and those feelings influence our loyalty, trust, and intention to buy from that brand.”
