Say Sayonara to Foggy Lenses
With masks either mandated or recommended, depending on the circumstances, Shamir’s Glacier™ Anti-Fog with Duplex-Technology should be at the top of your list for patients. Here’s a look at the what it does, how it works, and what all of that means to wearers. As Shamir puts it, Shamir Glacier Anti-Fog is all about ReCreating Perfect Vision® during an Imperfect Time.
Everybody has had the foggy glasses experience, the result of constant activity that causes the body to give off heat and humidity. Shamir offers a permanent solution to this problem that delivers clear vision all the time.
Tip: Tell patients to clean the front and backside of the lens surfaces separately.
TWO TECHNOLOGIES
The key is in the Duplex-Technology, which delivers two technologies in one lens.
• THE FRONTSIDE. Glacier™ Anti-Reflective premium coating comes standard in order to resist, repel, and reduce any dust, debris, and glare.
• THE BACKSIDE. Unlike other products that require spray solutions to activate their fog technology, Glacier Anti-Fog provides fog-free vision from the moment the patient receives the lens. No special directions are required to ensure product performance. Exceptional visual acuity is provided, through the water collection and spreading process, providing relief against both fog and distorted vision.
PRACTICE/PATIENT TIPS
As a practitioner, be sure no one in your office writes on/puts any markings on the backside of the lens.
To keep the lenses clean, tell patients to clean the front and backside of the lens surfaces separately. To remove dirt from the backside surface, recommend to patients that they use a wet cloth and then dry with a dry one. Another option is denatured alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, or a lens cleaning solution that doesn’t contain acetone. Be sure to tell them not to soak or rinse under water or use acetone.
